The Development Division of R. A. Galindo, Inc. has
contributed substantially to the growth of Brazos County
and the Bryan- College Station metroplex, home of Texas
A&M University. In the mid 1970's, development projects
included the creation of a separate 600-acre Municipal
Utility District, which was later annexed by the city
of Bryan. Other major developments included University
Park, a mixed residential/commercial development in
College Station, which was completed in 1982. Between
1975 and 2004, R. A. Galindo, Inc. has been responsible
for the development of over 1,000 acres in Brazos County
with total 2004 property tax values in excess of $300 million
and still adding.
In 1986 R. A. Galindo, Inc. began developing real
estate projects outside Brazos County. The Lake Nasworthy
Estates subdivision was carved out of the former Ducote
Ranch in Tom Greene County, Texas and covers nearly
60 acres of multi- use land near the shores of Lake
Nasworthy in San Angelo. The highlight of this phased
project is a 200-unit duplex and fourplex community,
which was leased to the U.S. Air Force. The project
included financing and construction of a complete new
wastewater plant to serve the south side of San Angelo.
In 1996, the City of Cedar Park, in Williamson County,
Texas became the site of another R. A. Galindo, Inc.
development. Middle Brook Gardens, Phase I&II, is
a 416-unit Class-A apartment complex noted for its incorporation
of the existing natural landscape. Located 20 miles
northwest of Austin, Cedar Park is a high growth area.
In 2007 the company began an end-of-stream high value commercial development in the City of Pflugerville, another Austin suburb, with a free-standing premier fitness club as its center piece.
